3.11の記憶 そしてあれからと銘打ち 2014年12月５日 東京港区芝浦にある芝浦ハウスにて「写真展」を催します。(18:00~21:00)
この写真展は「close to 3.11」のメンバーが主体となり、フェローズウィルを共催とし”南三陸あったらもん委員会：MSR smile project ‘‘さんも参加され、（社）南三陸町観光協会の後援を頂き開催されます。

「わすれない、あの日」 写真展 
3.11の記憶 そしてあれから
被災地の支援を続ける複数の団体、個人が共に「忘れられる震災と被災地」に思いを馳せて頂くことと、防災の再啓蒙を目的に、プロの写真家、アマチュアの写真家から提供して頂いた計60点の写真による写真展を12月5日(18:00～21:00)に東京港区で開催します。キャプションは日本語・英語の両方を用意し、海外からの方にもわかりやすい構成・説明とします。また当日は、宮城県南三陸町の漁師から養殖・漁業復活の第一歩に始めたシンボル「ワカメ」などが来場者に提供されます。さらに語り部によるトークで震災と現状をお伝えすることで、「震災と被災地」を映像、画像と食材を通し「五感」で体感できるという、一般の写真展とは違うシチュエーションを作り上げます。
東日本大震災に伴う大津波により、多くの「命」、「財産」、「夢」、「思い出」が奪われましたが、３.１１から３年９カ月、時と共にその事実と想いは人々の記憶の引き出しの奥にしまわれつつあります。しかしながら避難もしくは仮設住宅に移られた方々は今も23万人にも及び、生活環境格差が広がるにつれ、被災者の「心の不安」は増すばかりです。この実態を、情報が入り乱れ、ややもすると復興が支障なく進んでいるかのように思わせる状況下の「今」、多くの方々にお知らせし、あの時、今、これからを考えて頂きたいと思います。
本企画は、宮城県名取市閖上地区にて活動されているフリーライター矢田海里氏、気仙沼、岩手県大船渡・釜石で活動されている写真家伊藤進也氏、南三陸町の支援を続けるＮＰＯ団体が個人・団体の枠を越え、共通の想いや今後起こりうる災害への防災意識を共有し、開催の運びとなりました。

東京で海外からの居住者が最も多い港区で人口増加が進んでいる芝・芝浦地区を選びました。ここで多くの方々の共感を再度創りあげたいと考えています。そしてこの「close to 3.11」を継続することで、未来の子供達へのメッセージとなることを希望しています。

“Close to 3.11 – Never Forget the Day”
A Photo Exhibition of the 3.11 Earthquake and Tsunami
With the aim of raising awareness of the need to empathize with those individuals affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and to stay on high-alert for future natural disasters, there will be an exhibition consisting of total 60 photographs by a professional and two amateur photographers. The event, held on December 5th, 18:00-21:00, in Minato-ward Tokyo, is sponsored by “Close to 3.11” composed of groups and individuals with deep commitment to reach out to survivors. Photograph captions are in Japanese and English, providing both Japanese and foreign visitors deep insight into the captured events.
Uniqueness of the event lies in engaging all five senses of the visitors – sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, thereby assisting them to feel closer to the devastated areas with a deeper sense of empathy. As a part of the plan, ‘Wakame’ reaped by fishermen in Minami-Sanriku Town Miyagi will be offered. The wakame is a symbol of the fishermen’s first step toward recuperating their livelihoods and the rebirth of the area. The plan also include a storytelling of the Tsunami and sentiments of the survivors.
As we all know, many ‘lives’, ‘properties’, ‘dreams’ and ‘memories’ were washed away by the massive tsunami. Three years and nine months have passed since March 3rd, 2011. With each day, attention to the devastation fades from the mind of the public partly because media coverage makes us believe that the restoration works are underway. However, most of 230,000 evacuees still remain in temporary housing. Their anxiety grows, fearing that as this ‘awareness gap’ widens, their living circumstances may not improve.
The event planning started from sharing empathy among those involved: Kairi Yada, a freelance writer; Shinya Ito, a professional photographer; and a NPO, all still actively involved in supporting survivors and restoration of Miyagi and Iwate.
